The Lancaster Legends put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 70-66 victory over Cardinal O'Hara. Given Lancaster's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Cardinal O'Hara is ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Cardinal O'Hara lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kels Ivey. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points along with six rebounds. Ivey scored a full 48.5% of Cardinal O'Hara's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cannon Dotson, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Cardinal O'Hara struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lancaster's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Cardinal O'Hara, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-3.
Lancaster will face off against East Aurora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal O'Hara will be home for the holidays to greet Orchard Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
