The Manchester Red Hawks waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 68-61 win over Cheney RVT. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Chance Clark was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Quentin Ford was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
When it comes to explaining why Cheney RVT lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dam'nic Gittens. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dazhaun Copeland, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Cheney RVT were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manchester only posted three assists.
Manchester is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Cheney RVT, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.
Manchester will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Enfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cheney RVT, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Prince RVT focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
