Coconut Creek lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keisha Julot, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Julot has scored all season. Abigail Theophile was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Coconut Creek struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pembroke Pines Charter pulled down 19 offensive rebounds.
Pembroke Pines Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Rivera, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 25 rebounds. Rivera is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Taylor, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds.
Coconut Creek now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coconut Creek will take on the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coral Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in Florida (the Colts are ranked 138th, while the Cougars are ranked 390th). As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against the at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
