Basketball Recap: Coventry's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Coventry won the last time they faced East Windsor, and Hailey Mayo did her part to make sure it happened again. The Coventry Patriots walked away with a 60-52 win over the East Windsor Panthers on Tuesday thanks in part to Mayo, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Defeat or not, East Windsor got some senior leadership from Kyelah Smith and Taylor Jackson. Smith went 8 for 12 on her way to 18 points and seven boards, while Jackson almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Jackson. Nahelymar Santana was another key player, putting up three points along with six assists and five boards.

The victory (which was Coventry's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-1. As for East Windsor, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.

Coventry has already played their next match, a 56-32 defeat against Windham on the 30th. As for East Windsor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-57 loss against Suffield on the 31st.
