Montfort Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cristo Rey 43-41. The Knights haven't had any issues with Cristo Rey recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Montfort Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tafadzwa Ruvando led the charge by putting up 17 points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Reyes, who posted 12 points.

Looking ahead, Montfort Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Mt.
