The Chatfield Chargers were the 67-60 winner over the Rampart Rams when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Chatfield lost to Rampart on the road by a decisive 70-51 margin on Friday. Chatfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chatfield's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Merek Chuita, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and Colin Mote who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Logan, who scored 4 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rampart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deangelo Smith, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Haydn Benoit, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Chatfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rampart, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Chatfield will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Liberty at 12:30 p.m. on December 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Liberty is ranked 104th, while Chatfield is ranked 128th). As for Rampart, they will square off against Douglas County at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
