The Midland Legacy Rebels will be playing at home against the Permian Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Midland Legacy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Even though Frenship scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Midland Legacy still came out on top. Midland Legacy came out on top against Frenship by a score of 63-56. The score was all tied up 35-35 at the break, but Midland Legacy was the better team in the second half.
Damien Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 259 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Another player making a difference was Brex Stevens, who picked up 132 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Permian pushed their score all the way to 42 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 49-42 to Odessa. Despite running the score up even higher than they did back in September (41), Permian still had to take the loss.
Midland Legacy's win lifted them to 5-1 while Permian's defeat dropped them down to 3-3.
