The Jacksonville Christian Academy Thunder were the 79-67 winner over the Valley Head Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Jacksonville Christian Academy took a 75-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valley Head on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (62), Jacksonville Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Jacksonville Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jesse Gannaway, who dropped a double-double on 42 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gannaway has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noah Lee, who scored five points along with 21 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Jacksonville Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 8-14. As for Valley Head, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jacksonville Christian Academy and Gaston will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gaston will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak alive. As for Valley Head, they will head out on the road to take on Oakwood Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
