Basketball Recap: Granite City Falls Despite Big Games from Isaiah Garrett and Evan Brewer

Granite City lost against Cahokia back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Granite City Warriors lost 67-42 to the Cahokia Comanches. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Granite City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Evan Brewer, who went 7 for 10 en route to 14 points, and Isaiah Garrett, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave Garrett a new career-high. Timo Bradley also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first rebounds of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cahokia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Corrion Raiford, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with six boards and five steals. Raiford is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Cornelius Griffin was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 18 points.

Granite City's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Cahokia, their record now sits at 8-12.

Granite City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-32 defeat against Jersey on the 22nd. As for Cahokia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-55 loss against Jacksonville on the 22nd.
