After a string of three wins, the West Clermont Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kings. West Clermont has not had much luck with Kings recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
West Clermont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Hale, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Paige Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
West Clermont's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Kings, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Clermont will challenge Winton Woods at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kings, they will head out on the road to take on Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Walnut Hills will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
