The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over McArthur on Friday. This was payback for Pompano Beach, who suffered a 60-56 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Jonathan Berwig continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Pompano Beach's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerrick Wiggins, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Pompano Beach's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for McArthur, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Pompano Beach and Dillard will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McArthur will be home for the holidays to greet South Broward at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. South Broward is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
