Laurel had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ellwood City Wolverine 43-14. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 14-7 victory the Wolverine walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.
Kolton Carlson was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 108 yards on only seven carries, and also picked up 82 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an impressive 66 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
