It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Briarwood Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 21-6 win over the War Eagles. The win was familiar territory for Briarwood Academy who now have four in a row.
Briarwood Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Hollis Evans, who rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and Charlie Mosley, who rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Mosley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Gatewood stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Augusta Prep Day, posting a 54-12 victory on the road. Winning may never get old, but Gatewood sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Briarwood Academy's victory bumped their season record to 8-3 while Brentwood's defeat dropped theirs to 5-6.
