The Bridgeport Bearcats lost against the Glenn Bobcats back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bridgeport took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glenn. Bridgeport has struggled against Glenn recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Bridgeport saw an underclassman step up: Kimora Ellis dropped a double-double on 24 points and 22 rebounds. Ellis is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Sanders, who scored five points along with four steals.
Bridgeport's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.2 points per game. As for Glenn, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridgeport will face off against Birch Run at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Birch Run has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. As for Glenn, they will head out on the road to face off against Freeland at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Freeland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Glenn in Michigan (Freeland is ranked 30th, while Glenn is ranked 257th).
