The Lexington Wildcats entered their tilt with the White Knoll Timberwolves with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lexington put the hurt on the Timberwolves with a sharp 57-32 victory on Friday. Given Lexington's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lexington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaleya Lytes out in front who scored 12 points along with two steals. Lytes is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Sydni Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lexington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for White Knoll, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-20.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington will stay at home for another game and welcome the Silver Foxes at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. White Knoll will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
