The Riverside Chargers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Central Valley with points to spare, taking the game 49-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Riverside also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Riverside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dane Schalk out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jack Molt, who scored 11 points.
Riverside is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Central Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
Riverside won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. St. Francis is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Central Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Elgin/Pope John at 7:45 p.m.
