It was a good run, but the Saguaro Sabercats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 41-33 to Mesquite. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Saguaro has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Saguaro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alexa Simpson. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Simpson has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeda Brown, who scored eight points along with six steals.
It was another big night for Navae Guidry, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds for Mesquite. Vanessa Sepulveda was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Saguaro's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10. As for Mesquite, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.
Saguaro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mesquite also has no future games currently scheduled.
