3A Region 4 recap September 4, 2013
Teon Thomas of Winona ran for the longest rushing play in 3A Region 4 this season against Choctaw County last week. Thomas' team lost to the Chargers as he sprinted for 87 yards on the play and finished with 100 in all.
Kemper County moved up to 152 from 214 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Scott Central 24-8.
Nettleton's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dakota Cruber threw for 286 and 4 touchdowns and Jeremy Cook had 118 yards receiving. On the ground Laonta Nabors chipped in 162 yards. Jordan Smith helped Nettleton's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 75 yards.
