It was a good run, but the Central Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Camelback, falling 48-20. Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Camelback apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Khameron Athy. Despite the final result, he rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
Camelback's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shawn Pereira, who rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. Kemahn Knight got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Central's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Camelback, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Camelback also has no future games currently scheduled.
