Softball Recap: Mcclatchy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rosemont

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McClatchy). They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Rosemont Wolverines on Wednesday. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 13-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lily Arbizo looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayeliza Rogers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season. Another player making a difference was Maia Jacobs, who scored a run while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

The win got McClatchy back to even at 2-2. As for Rosemont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

McClatchy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 victory against Cordova on the 27th. As for Rosemont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 win against El Dorado on the 20th.
