The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Red Lion Christian Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 50th in Delaware, while Providence Christian Academy is ranked 192nd in Maryland).
It was another big night for Bryce Unruh, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six assists for Providence Christian Academy. The matchup was Unruh's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Mark Ewing was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Red Lion Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Providence Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Red Lion Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Wilmington Charter at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Wilmington Charter is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Providence Christian Academy is on the road again on Saturday and play against Odyssey Charter on December 16th.
