Freelance recap November 5, 2013
Mater Dei scaled the state rankings by moving to 185 from 222 this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of defeating East Richland 49-21.
Mater Dei took down the Tigers 49-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jordan Ratermann ran for 247 yards in the win.
Ratermann was a passing and rushing force as Jim Stiebel's team topped East Richland. Ratermann's key target this week was Nick Hitpas, who caught 2 passes for 53 yards.
Ratermann was a beast in the backfield as the Knights bested David Denton's team.
Austin Thompson was the best wideout in the league this week as Mt. Carmel bested Central. Thompson tallied 5 receptions for 120 yards. Levi Laws helped Mt. Carmel's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 51 yards.
The Aces' Reece Metcalf and Thompson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Metcalf has thrown for 2,148 yards this season, while Thompson has 42 catches for 764 yards. Mater Dei's Ratermann leads the league in rushing yards with 1,123.
The Knights led Freelance in scoring this week by notching 49 points on the Tigers. Ratermann ran for 247 yards during the win.
