The Lockland Panthers will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the New Miami Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Lockland took a serious blow against the Lions, falling 53-25. Lockland has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jaylah Smith, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alayah Jefferson, who scored three points along with four steals.
New Miami won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They suffered a rough 61-35 defeat at the hands of Cincinnati Christian. New Miami was down 50-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Lockland's defeat was their 11th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.5 points per game. As for New Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Lockland couldn't quite finish off the Vikings in their previous meeting back in January and fell 35-32. Can Lockland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
