Monett suffered a tough 66-45 loss at the hands of the Mustangs on Thursday. Monett has struggled against the Mustangs recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
McDonald County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamie Washam led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Washam has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Roslynn Huston, who scored 16 points.
Monett's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for McDonald County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cassville the next time they take the court. Monett will head out to face the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Mustangs will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
