Neuwirth Leadership Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed by Lake Balboa College Prep on the road to the tune of 55-18. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Neuwirth Leadership Academy has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Hawkins pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of View Park.
Despite their defeat, Hawkins saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Robert Stewart, who scored 20 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Kemaun Scott, who scored 16 points.
Neuwirth Leadership Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Hawkins, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
