While North Miami didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over Winamac on Friday. Not much got past Ryan Meredith, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Winamac off the board.

The victory made it two in a row for North Miami and bumps their season record up to 8-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Culver Academies, their record now sits at 7-1.
Culver Academies came out on top in a nail-biter against North Miami in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
