On Friday, Liberty Christian didn't have too much trouble with Vandalia Christian at home as they won 63-46. Given Liberty Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Vandalia Christian is ranked 502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jakeem Bradford, who scored 24 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Liberty Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Ian Sterrett, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals.
Liberty Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Vandalia Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Liberty Christian has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome New Bern Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully New Bern Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. Vandalia Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Alamance Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
