The Edgewater Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Ocoee Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Edgewater came out on top against Lake Highland Prep last Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Eagles blew past the Highlanders 14-5.

Edgewater let Sean Baker and Coron Victor run wild. Baker got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Victor got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Baker is becoming a predictor of Edgewater's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Henry Malatesta was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Edgewater kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Ocoee not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1, 2025 (when they won 14-3). They put the hurt on Windermere Prep with a sharp 12-1 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Marcus Robles looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Bobby Judd was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Aiden Alevelo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Edgewater's record now sits at 7-8-1. As for Ocoee, their record is now 7-10.
Edgewater's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. The Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Ocoee, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Edgewater continue to outrun the ball?
Edgewater got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February against Ocoee by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
