The Arcata Tigers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past University Prep 50-48. That's another feather in the cap for Arcata, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, University Prep still got an impressive performance from Scott Steffan, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Devin Huegel, who scored seven points.
The victory got Arcata back to even at 5-5. As for University Prep, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Arcata will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th. University Prep is on the road again on Thursday and play against Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on December 21st. Foothill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than University Prep in California (Foothill is ranked 287th, while University Prep is ranked 581st).
