After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Veterans, the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets were happy to have found some success  on Saturday. They walked away with  a   59-51  victory over Lee County. Given Thomas County Central's advantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 57th, while Lee County is ranked 299th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
  Travesha Giddens continued  her habit of posting crazy stat lines,  dropping  a double-double on 15 points and 14  rebounds. Giddens is absolutely dominating the  rebound category: she's  posted at least eight every time she's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Harmonee Ross, who  scored 11 points along with two  steals.
 When it comes to explaining why Lee County lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Camya Hutcherson. Despite the final result, she  scored 25 points along with five  assists and three  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Hutcherson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was  Bayyinah Citlak, who  scored 17 points along with five  rebounds.
 Thomas County Central's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Lee County, they are  on a six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-13.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas County Central will  square off against Bainbridge at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Lee County, Lee County and Veterans will face off  at 6:00  p.m.  on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Veterans' favor as the  squad sits on three straight wins at home while Lee County has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
