Latta had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Lake View on Saturday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Wild Gators with a sharp 8-2 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Seth Minshew made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Byrd, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Latta is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lake View, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.

As of now, neither Latta nor the Wild Gators have any future games scheduled.
