The Liberty Preparatory Christian Patriots won the last time they faced the Jackson Day Mariners, and things went their way on Thursday too. Liberty Preparatory Christian came out on top against the Mariners by a score of 29-18. The win made it back-to-back wins for Liberty Preparatory Christian.
Liberty Preparatory Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leia Garrett, who scored ten points along with five blocks. Garrett hasn't dropped below two blocks for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Hammack, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds.
Liberty Preparatory Christian's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Jackson Day, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Preparatory Christian will take on the Lab Rats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lab University Prep has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20. As for Jackson Day, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Knights at 7:00 p.m.
