Softball Recap: Caruthers Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Caruthers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Firebaugh Eagles. The Blue Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Caruthers got a massive performance out of Makena Salumbides, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one run. Those five RBI gave Salumbides a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmi Almeida, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

Caruthers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .379 or higher in six consecutive games.

Caruthers' victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Firebaugh, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-21.

Caruthers has already played their next matchup, a 14-2 loss against Liberty on the 12th. As for Firebaugh, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Mendota on the 12th.
