Grand River Academy will play host again and welcome Mentor Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Grand River Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Fuchs Mizrachi 71-52.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grand River Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Filip Runjo, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Runjo has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Joseph Quartey was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mentor Christian beat Lawrence Upper 66-60 on Friday. The win was just what Mentor Christian needed coming off of a 69-40 loss in their prior matchup.
Grand River Academy pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Mentor Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Grand River Academy against Mentor Christian when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 63-28 win. Does Grand River Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mentor Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
