The North Central Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Stuart Broncos at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
On Monday, North Central took a serious blow against Ainsworth, falling 69-41. While losing is never fun, North Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Ainsworth is ranked 66th).
Meanwhile, Stuart put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Osmond/Randolph as Stuart made off with a 51-30 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Stuart as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stuart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavynn Mustin, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 15 rebounds, and nine steals. Mustin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayde Ramm, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
This is the second loss in a row for North Central and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Stuart, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
North Central didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Stuart in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Stuart's Schyuler Mustin, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for North Central to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
