Barnwell dropped down to 4-4 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 9-2 to the Pelion Panthers. The Warhorses were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Panthers' pitchers proved too tough.

Barnwell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carl Hines, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Pelion, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

On Pelion's side, Kolten Rogers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Rogers has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

While Barnwell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
