Basketball Recap: Tristan Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Christian Home Educators over Excel Christian Academy

Christian Home Educators lost against Excel Christian Academy on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Christian Home Educators Knights took a 57-43 bruising from the Excel Christian Academy Eagles.

Christian Home Educators' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Hall, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hall a new career-high in boards. Caleb Snyder was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Christian Home Educators smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Excel Christian Academy was led to victory by Luke Kelley and Kaiden Ward. Kelley earned 18 points, while Ward had 16 points. Kelley is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jay Wyatt Hoskins, who scored eight points.

Christian Home Educators has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Excel Christian Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian Home Educators will host Varsity Opponent at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Excel Christian Academy, they will welcome King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
