Baseball Recap: Rose Bud Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Rose Bud got themselves on the board against Concord on Thursday, but Concord never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 21-0 margin over the Concord Pirates. The result was nothing new for the Ramblers, who have now won six matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Calan English made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Rose Bud got a massive performance out of Coleby Compton, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Compton a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Tanner Bell, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Rose Bud hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.

Rose Bud has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Concord and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Rose Bud will take on Carlisle in a tournament on March 28th. As for Concord, they will be taking part in a tournament against Norfork at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
