Despite the defeat, Gretna East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooklyn Beethe had 17 digs and three aces. Beethe has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played. Elayne Graver also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
