The Trezevant Bears will be playing at home against the KIPP Collegiate phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Trezevant got themselves on the board against Hillcrest, but Hillcrest never followed suit. They blew past the Vikings, posting a 38-0 win at home. The win was just what Trezevant needed coming off of a 49-0 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, KIPP Collegiate didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Carroll on Friday, but they still walked away with a 34-28 victory. The win was just what KIPP Collegiate needed coming off of a 35-14 defeat in their prior matchup.
KIPP Collegiate found their leader in underclassman Kevin Garret, who rushed for 239 yards on only ten carries. Nathaniel Coleman did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards.
Trezevant's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for KIPP Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Trezevant skirted past KIPP Collegiate 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2019. Does Trezevant have another victory up their sleeve, or will KIPP Collegiate turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
