This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Blake Reuter and Lars Galinanes. Reuter gained 169 total yards and two touchdowns while Galinanes rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Reuter also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Greencastle-Antrim is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.
Greencastle-Antrim was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Juniata). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-14 win over Newport. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Greencastle-Antrim better keep an eye on Jasper Shepps. He was instrumental in Juniata's win, picking up 115 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 75 yards and two TDs. Shepps really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards. Jason Condo was another key player, throwing for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Juniata, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Shepps, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Juniata didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Xzavier Rivera, Colten Rowles, and Shepps picked up one apiece. Juniata received some extra help from Isaac Ramirez, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Greencastle-Antrim's record now sits at 2-5. As for Juniata, their record is now 5-2.
Greencastle-Antrim strolled past Juniata in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 40-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
