The McCallie Blue Tornado came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Chattanooga Christian by a score of 71-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Kenneth Chime, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 21 rebounds. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Robison, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists.
McCallie's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Chattanooga Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCallie and Knoxville Catholic will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Knoxville Catholic will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Chattanooga Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Boyd-Buchanan at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th.
