Allie Reynolds was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Skylar Shelist was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Riley Driskill also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Amundsen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. Jones came up short against Taft, falling 16-6. Jones has struggled against Taft recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Julissa Galvaz and Meghan Pierce did some serious damage despite the final result: Galvaz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Pierce went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Hannah Paskiewicz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Amundsen now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything went Amundsen's way against Jones in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Amundsen made off with an 18-1 win. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
