In what's become a running theme this season, North Brunswick gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 76-49 victory over West Brunswick. Given North Brunswick's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while West Brunswick is ranked 347th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Laney's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3. As for North Brunswick, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Laney strolled past North Brunswick in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 58-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laney since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
