The Middle Park Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-32 loss at the hands of Forge Christian. Middle Park was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-19.
When it comes to explaining why Middle Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joey Gagnon. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with two steals and two blocks. That was a full 59.4% of Middle Park's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marqes Pasillas, who scored seven points.
Owen Hovis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Forge Christian, scoring 21 points. Austin Farris was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Middle Park dropped their record down to 7-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Forge Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
Middle Park will head out on the road to take on Sheridan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Forge Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three matches.
