The Macon County Tigers 's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 69-60 to Greenbrier. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Greenbrier had a senior duo take command as Nolan Carson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds and Nate Castleman scored 23 points. Carson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Meyer, who scored nine points.
Macon County dropped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Greenbrier, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macon County will challenge Station Camp at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Station Camp has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Greenbrier, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Portland at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th.
