There's no place like home for the Chittenango Bears, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Christian Brothers Academy 59-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Ryan Moesch was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with five assists and five steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Chittenango's points. Bernardo Bortovski was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Chittenango pushed their record up to 8-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-7 record last season and are now at 3-6.
Chittenango will head out on the road to face off against Institute of Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against The Park School of Buffalo at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in The Park School of Buffalo's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
