The McDonough Rams's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 victory over Great Mills. That result was just more of the same for these two, as McDonough also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Mikayla King was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cailyn Samuel, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
McDonough now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Great Mills, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonough will play host again and welcome Thomas Stone, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Thomas Stone is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Great Mills, they will be playing at home against North Point at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Point has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
