The Avalon Eagles will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Blum Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Avalon blew past Three Way, posting a 54-6 win on the road. The win was just what Avalon needed coming off of a 68-32 defeat in their prior match.
Josh Novak went supernova for Avalon, rushing for 192 yards and five touchdowns on only ten carries. Novak is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Ozymy, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Blum can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 52-0 win over Three Way at home. The win was just what Blum needed coming off of a 72-30 loss in their prior match.
Avalon's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-5. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.33 points. As for Blum, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Avalon was dealt a bruising 92-44 loss at the hands of Blum in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Avalon have more luck at home instead of on the road?
