L.C. Bird saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaliyah Hrbowski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Hrbowski is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Arianna ?Seven? Carter also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Prince George made easy work of Thomas Dale on Thursday and carried off a 17-7 victory. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.
Karlee Vlkojan made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Vlkojan was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kasey Sulc, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Madison Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Prince George kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Prince George's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-3. As for L.C. Bird, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
L.C. Bird suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Prince George in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Skyhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
